To our R&D and Innovation organisation, we are looking for a Development Engineer to deliver the acoustic solutions of the future.

Responsibility Working at Ecophon is characterized by teamwork and open communication. As Development Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with colleagues throughout most of the company. This is an independent specialist role covering a large scope, and a broad spectrum of tasks. Among others, your responsibility will include:
Development of new products, solutions, ideas and concepts
Technical pre-studies and investigations
Studies of material properties
Industrialisation and factory tests at own production
Close cooperation with suppliers

You will act as technical expert and support the organisation with knowledge and expertise in within decorative and functional surfaces. This means you will have a close collaboration with colleagues from many areas of the company, from Market/Sales, to R&D and Production; both locally and globally. You will be part of a very passionate and knowledgeable R&D team which consists of 15 Engineers, and you are reporting to Product Development Manager. This position is based in Hyllinge, outside Helsingborg and includes frequent travelling within Europe, mainly Scandinavia.

Profile We are looking for a candidate with 5-10 years’ experience from R&D and development of products/materials. You are knowledgeable within composite materials and have a fundamental understanding of related areas such as paint, binders, glue and non-woven. To become successful in this role we believe you have a Master of Science degree within chemistry, mechanical engineering or similar. Furthermore, you can communicate in English on a high level, both in writing and orally.

Responsibility
Working at Ecophon is characterized by teamwork and open communication. As Chemical Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with colleagues throughout most of the company. This is an independent specialist role covering a large scope, and a broad spectrum of tasks. Among others, your responsibility will include:

- Ownership of chemical inventory of all Ecophon raw materials and finished products. Support various parts of the organisation (R&D, marketing, sales, operations) with knowledge and expertise in this field.
- Responsibility for the coordination of all regulatory demands regarding chemical transparency and safety (safety datasheet, national building declaration platforms, commercial certifications, etc.)
- Responsibility for the coordination and documentation of VOC and fire testing
- Ownership of various raw materials used for the manufacturing of Ecophon products, such as paints or adhesives
- Close cooperation with suppliers and Ecophon production sites
- Participation in development projects of adhesives, paints or decorative painted surfaces with our suppliers, production sites and Product Development team


You will act as technical expert and support the organisation with knowledge and expertise in your field. This means you will have a close collaboration with colleagues from many areas of the company, from Market/Sales, to R&D and Production; both locally and globally. Profile
We are looking for a candidate with a background in Chemical Engineering. Relevant background within Process Engineering is a plus. We appreciate previous experience within the paint or building material industry, but we are also willing to offer opportunities to young graduate looking to start a promising career.

About the position

As Product Engineer, you will be part of the Product Engineering & Development team in the R&D and Innovation organisation, which is responsible for the Ecophon Group’s wide range of products through their lifecycle. You will be assigned the above-mentioned ceilings range, and you will be fully responsible for their specifications, compliance as well as their documentation. You will work in an international environment, in close cooperation with our production sites and our suppliers across Europe, to keep products constantly up-to-date with latest developments and requirements. Additionally, you will support our sales units and network of technical experts with technical issues related to our products. You will work closely with your fellow Engineers and be responsible for specific functions and areas of expertise for the Ecophon Group products.

The position is based at Saint-Gobain Ecophon AB, our main company of the Ecophon Group, in Hyllinge, Sweden. Travelling within Europe will be included in this role, mainly to France and Denmark.

The tasks of the position are varied and include for example:

- Ensure compliance of assigned product ranges with legal requirements
- Maintain up-to-date information and documentation of assigned product ranges
- Own production specification of assigned finished products (including associated components) and coordinate with relevant stakeholders in case of upcoming change or new product development
- Build and own a more advanced knowledge of specific technical area(s) with close relationships with relevant external contacts and bring support to the rest of the organisation
- Be the point of contact for Technical Support and Claims Coordination on technical issues regarding assigned product ranges
- Training of customers and installers, either in our training facilities or on project sites


Profile

We are looking for a candidate with higher education with a technical or engineering degree (BSc or similar) and at least 5 years relevant practical experience, preferably from the construction or building materials industry. You have a strong technical and mechanical understanding, and competence in CAD software is seen as a plus, together with excellent written and spoken English. You are also able to communicate in French.

You are a “doer” that can manage several tasks and missions simultaneously without losing focus on the details.
