Job Description
We’re looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to help us ensure that our workplace is safe and compliant with all relevant EHS regulations and requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and with experience in environmental health and safety. They will be able to identify potential hazards and develop solutions to mitigate them.

Contract and schedule type: full-time, permanent
Duties & Responsibilities
An EHS engineer is an individual who specializes in preventing or minimizing exposure to environmental hazards and works on continuous improvements.
EHS engineers are also responsible for responding to incidents and accidents and for the follow-up of occurred incidents, near misses or risks identified.
Examples of previous experiences, but not limited to, are from chemical processing and/or manufacturing, waste management and wastewater treatment.
Duties:
Provides effective technical leadership in environmental health and safety, including pollution prevention, for an organization's operations.
Ensures compliance with environmental, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Develops, implements, and enforces environmental, health and safety policies and procedures, including safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Provides consultation and training to employees on environmental, health, and safety matters.
Implements, monitors, and enforces environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Develops environmental, health, and safety plans, programs, and procedures.
Identifies, analyzes, and resolves environmental, health, and safety problems.
Maintains and manages environmental, health, and safety databases and recordkeeping and prepares reports.
Oversees environmental, health, and safety audits and inspections.
Responsibilities:
Implement, maintain, and oversee safety and environmental regulations, procedures, and practices.
Develop, create, and update health and safety plans and procedures.
Conduct site inspections and monitor site compliance with health and safety requirements.
Ensure individuals, contractors, and subcontractors have appropriate training according to training programs.
Conduct compliance reviews.
Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Maintain daily and weekly reports regarding equipment maintenance, inventory, and other operational activities together with QEHS Manager and QEHSS Supervisor.
Manage the department's hazardous materials inventory.
Act as a back-up function to review QEHS MOCs
Act as a back-up function to QEHS Manager and QEHSS Supervisor where applicable.
Manage the local waste program together with QEHS Manager and QEHSS Supervisor
The Individual
BSc/MSc degree in engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in an environmental health and safety assignments
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices and regulations
Knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety procedures, laws and regulations
Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and documents
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and fluent in both Swedish and English
Ability to prioritize, be decisive, accurate and with a sense of order is considered exemplary
